As startups seek investors and loans, a solid business plan is essential. A Food Co-op Business Plan Guide (click to download) is a new tool to help startups build their own business plan. It allows them to express their vision while clearly communicating the information potential lenders and investors will understand. You can find it in the Resource Library, under Implementation and also under Planning and Feasibility, late.
While many startups use a simplified plan early in the process of growing their co-op, groups in stage 2 will find it useful in planning, and all stage 3 groups should have a well-throughout business plan. It may be helpful to ask your co-op developer to review your plan before sharing it with others.
