Using FCI’s New Website
Whether you are new to us, or familiar with our old site, we think you will find it pretty easy to find things on our new site. These pointers will help.
New for March 2017, the Food Co-op Initiative website has been completely revamped and reorganized.
The Home page has links that take you to our most-used or most time-sensitive items, as well as the bones of FCI—our resources.
Pop-ups? Yes – but just once! When you click on a few selected items for the first time, like The FCI Guide to Starting a Food Co-op, you will see a pop-up window. We ask people to register with us so we can keep them informed of changes in the multiple resources linked to the books. If you have cookies enabled on your device, it should not happen again.
Our Header includes links to Contact Us and Donate pages. We are glad so many of you choose to support us so we can keep our resources free.
About Us – want to learn more about FCI? Our History, Impact, Staff, and more can be found here.
Our Resource Library is where you will find most of the items formerly in Toolbox or Comprehensive Guides on our old site.
On the left sidebar you will see categories. Select a category to bring up relevant resources. You can filter further by using a subcategory as shown.
You may select multiple categories and subcategories, but it may get cluttered. Use the Clear Filters button to refresh and start a new filtering.
As with anything on the site, you can also use the SEARCH feature in the upper right-hand side of every page.
Startup Stories is full of blog posts, tips, and case studies, in chronological order. New items will be added regularly. Most of these are stories from your peers, and full of great insight. You may notice that some of these show up in the Resource Library. Peer training for co-ops ROCKS.
News & Events lists events and announcements, in chronological order.
Our FAQ – frequently asked questions – page has been updated It is a good starting point for new groups.
Seed Grants page is where you will find application materials from last year, and this year when the application window is near. The dates for the next cycle are posted there as well.
In the Footer, you will find links to our most-used resources, as well as social media and newsletter signup links.
